Before Counselling

I worked as an environmental researcher until 1998.

I was a Computer Science teacher at St Stithians Boys College until 2006.

I finished an MA in Clinical Psychology in 2009.

I worked in an IT company doing bookkeeping, HR and training.
The Transition
In 2018 I started volunteering as a Listening Support Worker at Off The Record in Bath. Working with young people is incredibly rewarding and so I did the Certificate of Proficiency exam to get back into counselling in 2019.
My Approach
I was trained in different modalities but my work in the main is person-centred. I follow the tradition that each person knows themselves best and my role is to empower you and to facilitate discussion with you but not to tell you what you should do. I can support you to make informed choices about your life by exploring with you what is currently holding you back from being all that you want to be.
